1. Let’s start off with the quintessential “Flashdance…What A Feeling” by Irene Cara.

Fun fact: This iconic 80’s dance anthem topped the charts in 1983 and won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for best song as well as a Grammy for best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

2. Next up we have “Maniac” by Michael Sembello.

Fun Fact: The song was not written for the movie, but luckily for us, it was accidentally included on a cassette tape sent to executives who were looking for music to use in the film.

3. “Gloria” by Laura Branigan.

Fun Fact: The original version of the song was written and performed in Italian where it became a massive radio hit before making it’s way the States.

4. “Romeo” by Donna Summer.

Fun Fact: Much speculation has been made around the meaning of the lyric “oh chucka” which is constantly repeated in the song. The word “chucka” could possible be a nod to the “Oom Chucka Willie” limerick from the 70s.

5. And finally we leave you with the 1981 rock classic: “I Love Rock And Roll” by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts plus a clip of what is probably the greatest work out scene in the history of movies, Enjoy!

Enjoy the tunes and watch the movie Flashdance on EPIX!
