We’ve all dreamed of being movie stars. Well, if we can’t all be movie stars, at least we can dress like them. For this first “Get the Look” post, we’re going to focus on some lesser known styles from classic movies.
The Classic Classic – Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Everyone knows Breakfast at Tiffany’s, even if you haven’t seen it (seriously though SEE IT). We know the classic black dress, the floppy black hat, the long cigarette holder. But do you remember the grey dress? The white button-down with jeans and a guitar? Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) rocks some hella dope looks in this film.
Our personal fav? Her bedtime look. Yes it’s true– Holly, like The Bachelor’s Britt, might wear make up to bed, but we forgive her because she nails sexy sophistication in her pajamas.
A men’s tuxedo shirt paired with a quirky turquoise sleep mask and tasseled ear plugs.

The Modern Classic – Hunger Games: Catching Fire
There’s nothing like a YA dystopian movie for some creative ideas on how to dress. Just check out Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) in Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Effie’s outfits are not exactly everyday looks any girl can recreate. Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is the star of The Hunger Games trilogy, and as such, she gets the coolest outfits. They’re not just cool; they’re badass.
The Kitschy Classic – Showgirls
Ah yes, 1994, the year Saved by the Bell‘s Jesse Spano went full monty. Showgirls is a cult classic, and a lot of the thanks goes to the film’s heroine, Nomi Malone (Elizabeth Berkley).
Who could forget the scene when she makes love in a pool, squirming and convulsing like a fish out of water? Or when the topless Nomi pulls out a knife and kicks the crap out of a rapist? Or when the nearly naked Nomi pushes her Showgirls rival down the stairs?
Yes, Nomi might be topless for most of the film, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have some kitschy style to steal. We’re talking about her hair and make up. Glitter’s making a comeback in 2015.
